Pie Crust:
2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
2 teaspoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Unsalted Butter (cold)
1/2 cup of Cold Water (add more if needed)
Apple Filling:
8 Thinly Sliced Apples, Skinned
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
3/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
A Pinch of Salt
1/8 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Pie Crust:
Mix flour, sugar, salt together in a bowl, and add the butter on top. mix all together until a grainy dough forms
Add in the water and stir around until large clumps form (if you need to, add more water)
Put dough on a floured surface fold the dough into itself (knead it)
Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll them into balls and cover with plastic wrap and put in the fridge for about 30-45mins
Filling
Mix all Ingredients in bowl
Taste if any sugar is needed
Assembly:
Preheat oven to 425* F (220* C)
Once the pie crust has chilled, roll out until it’s round, not too thin but not too thick otherwise it won’t cook. Place this into your pan. (depending on the pan you have roll into a circle or square)
Add all the filling in
For your second pie crust. cut thin strips and criss-cross them so they look like a flannel pattern. If you can’t do this, just roll out the second crust and place on top making a X cut in the middle.
Bake for 40-45 mins
Cool for 10-20 mins, and serve with ice cream or custard
